I climbed all 185 steps of the lighthouse

A close-up view of a metal spiral staircase inside a tall structure with cream-coloured walls and a horizontal dark blue stripe running across the curved surface. The staircase steps are painted grey and show signs of wear and chipping. The supporting metal frame is black, and the walls feature protruding rivets and square bolts arranged in vertical and horizontal lines. The bright lighting highlights the glossy texture of the painted surfaces and casts defined shadows of the stair steps on the wall.A small square window with a deep, dark wooden frame is set into a thick, white plastered wall. The frame has a tiered, beveled design that creates a tunnel-like effect, drawing the eye to the view outside. Through the glass, a sunlit landscape with green fields, scattered white buildings, and a hint of blue sky and ocean in the distance is visible. The contrast between the dark wood, white walls, and bright outside scenery is striking.A rectangular informational sign is mounted on a cream-coloured wall with visible metal structural supports painted white, featuring rivets and crossbars. The sign is titled “Cast-Iron Construction” and describes the construction of a lighthouse using cast iron. On the left side, there is a purple-toned illustration of a lighthouse and a black-and-white drawing of the lighthouse structure. In the centre, there is a faint diagram or blueprint of the lighthouse’s design. On the right, there is text describing the history and completion of the lighthouse, accompanied by an image of a man in historical military attire holding a horse and a small illustration beneath it. The surrounding wall shows areas of weathering, with patches of peeling or stained paint.A close-up view of an antique mechanical clock movement with a series of interlocking gears and shafts. The gears are primarily green with signs of oxidation and wear, and some are mounted horizontally while others are vertical. The mechanism is made of metal, with a black iron frame supporting multiple rotating parts and large screws. A round, weathered metal weight sits at the base, connected to a vertical rod that engages with the gears above. The surrounding area includes green metal columns and a concrete floor, with a white, ribbed wall in the background. The entire mechanism has a rustic, aged appearance, showing signs of use and exposure to the elements.
